Leading Uk Packing Company Commissions Five Reel Turners For Forklift Trucks 18/01/2008
A leading UK packing company has commissioned a Reel and Shaft handling company to design and manufacture five reel turners for forklift trucks, potentially enabling the forklift truck to handle300kg reels. This commission has been implemented so as to combat the safety problems of forklift trucks in the handling and dismantling of extremely heavy reels in areas used for manufacturing and packaging.
The Reel and Shaft Handling Commission has been commissioned to design a prototype for use with forklift trucks so as to alleviate injuries sustained while dealing with reels on forklift trucks. There have been a number of health and safety guidelines released in relation to forklift truck use, and has been enforced to various standards worldwide. It is essential that the operators of forklift truck drivers are trained and certified, and in the UK and US, forklift truck regulations are set out by the Health and Safety Executive and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration respectively. The predominant safety standard of forklift truck usage can be referred to as being the B56 standard in the United States. Initially, this safety standard was employed by the American National Standards Institute, but this responsibility has now ostensibly been passed to a not-for-profit organisation, the Industrial Truck Standards Development Foundation.
