Jungheinrich Release Three New Forklifts 08/10/2007

Three new vehicles have recently been launched by Jungheinrich. These include a hydrostatic counterbalanced truck, a powered pallet truck, and a forklift steering wheel. The steering wheel has been designed so that the use of different levers for the truck’s mast and forks can be taken out future designs.

Approximately one third of the counterbalanced truck market with sales is made up from sales of Hydrostatic engine trucks. The rest of the sales in the market are made up from conventional torque – converter trucks. According to Dr Tobias Harzer, head of production management and product marketing for counterbalance trucks, a hydrostatic truck is the ideal for those who are carrying out a lot of work where shuttling is involved. For example, this could include lorry loading and unloading within busy warehouses and factory environments.

The VFG 425-435s - hydrostatic drive model, is able to lift loads of up to 3500 kg and heights of up to 7.5 metres. This model is available in both diesel and LPG versions. The hydrostatic trucks are low in maintenance and easier to service than other trucks due to there only being a small number of mechanical components. This also means that truck downtime is kept to a minimum and whole life operating cost is kept low.

JetPilot multi-function forklift steering wheel is also a new production line that Jungheinrich had developed. This is a design that allows all the main operational functions, such as travel direction, mast lifting and lowering, side shift and tilt, to be incorporated into the steering wheel. This means that the main operating levers are no longer features for the truck mast and forks.

The JetPilot is based on the most ergonomically efficient design due to Jungheinrich working with Germany’s Kiel University. By incorporating the main operating levers of the truck’s within a multifunction steering wheel, there is now more legroom for the operator. This also allows for a more spacious cab, where tools and possessions can be kept for the operator, allowing easy access to them during a work day.

The ERE 225 is the third and final launch is a powered pallet truck. This will be available this coming autumn. It has a fixed stand on platform and has third generation AC technology as standard. This new model was specifically designed for fast efficient lorry loading and unloading, along with transporting heavy loads over long distances. It can reach a speed of up to 12.5km/h and can carry loads of up to 2,500 kg.
