Northern Ireland Sees New Forklift Truck Safety Campaign 04/03/2008
There has been a new campaign in Northern Ireland focussing upon the safe usage of a number of health and safety campaigns. This includes campaigns affecting health and safety issues of forklift trucks.
The campaign will discuss forklift trucks and focuses upon workplace transport. In addition, the campaign which includes promotion of the safe usage of forklift trucks will employ training techniques of the safe driving and operation of forklift trucks and other
vehicles.
There have been numerous accidents and incidents over recent years, notably involving forklift trucks and other construction vehicles. As a result, these new campaign guidelines will seek to assist the safe usage of forklift trucks and other similar vehicles within the construction industry. Workplace accidents potentially can cause quantitative numbers of deaths, some relating to the usage of forklift trucks in the UK. This new scheme will work to assist the safe use of forklift trucks by ensuring that forklift truck operators are subject to inspection.
Accidents and incidents relating to forklift trucks can occur as forklift trucks may overturn, or there may be poor segregation between vehicles such as forklift trucks around people.
