- The driver must be well aware of the surroundings they are working in and also alert in keeping a watch on any pit-falls, hills, potholes etc.
- It is dangerous to stick your head out of the cab; there are chances of being injured due to the objects outside the forklift.
- Use a safety cage for a forklift to ensure security at all times.
- It is imperative for the operator to know how much weight the forklift can handle. If the forklift is overloaded with too much weight, it could damage the equipment and cause problems to people around.
- Make sure there are no bystanders near the location when using the forks.
- The operator must undergo proper training and be certified with a license.
